Former Governor of Jharkhand Syed Sibte Razi passed away. He served as the Governor of Jharkhand from 2004-2009. He was associated with Congress. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha three times. He was later made the Governor of Jharkhand and Assam. Razi, who belongs to the Congress, was born in Rae Bareli, a Congress stronghold in Uttar Pradesh. Born on March 7, 1939, he joined Shia College after completing his 10th standard from Hussainabad High School, Rae Bareli.


Razi started his political career in 1969. He entered politics as a student and worked as an accountant in several hotels to earn pocket money along with his studies. He did his B.Com from Lucknow University. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha three times.
